We are an innovative not-for-profit organisation - committed to professional standards and development
Our coaches, drivers and volunteers can support their own continuous professional development (CPD) requirements by joining our workshops and courses. From First Aid to Safeguarding, understanding disabilities to listening skills, we are committed to building a confident team to support our participants.
Some are on-line, others can be for small groups face to face, in line with workplace training guidelines. We are seeking funding to subsidise these costs where possible.
First Aid at Work
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) standard for First Aid at work Qualification is a one day (6 hours) workshop every 3 years. We arrange these at our base regularly, because somehow, horse people sometimes get injured...
Mental Health First Aid
We want our team to feel able to connect with people experiencing a range of mental health issues. We will be arranging the 2 day MHFA England workshop for our teams later in the year
Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults
A 3 hour online training that needs to be repeated every 3 years
Coaching through Disabilities
We have identified a range of online workshops for sports coaches, covering topics such as :
- Wheelchair sports coaching skills
- Coaching people with visual impairment
- Life-changing illnesses in an ageing population
- Communicating through Dementia
Join us as a volunteer, coach or supporter to receive early notice of these workshops and opportunities
HGV CPD
HGV licensed drivers must do 35 hours of periodic training every 5 years to keep their Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) to drive a lorry, bus or coach. More information from the DVLA can be found here
